The Metapraxis Ensemble is a London-based, flexible group of musicians and collaborators, established in early 2009. Our own productions (Metapraxis Events) focus on presenting contemporary music, often in conjunction with compositions from older eras, structured around a certain narrative, and reinforced by extra-musical elements. Allowing some sort of theatrical elements to emerge, our projects are presented as single units, often featuring video / film projections, movement, text reading and staging / lighting effects.

We are always aiming to create a performing environment in accordance to the tone and texture of each those event, as well as for other project we are engaging with through associated organisations. As a result, we have experimented with the adoption of a wide variety of art forms (theatre, shadow theatre, dance, film/video, puppetry), and collaborated with numerous artists (film & theatre directors, designers, choreographers, videographers, lighting designers and others).

Metapraxis events have taken place in venues all over London, such as LSO St Lukes, Cafe OTO, IKLECTIK, The Space, TripSpace, Iris, Chelsea & Blue Elephant Theatres, as well as in various educational institutions (Brunel, Goldsmiths, Guildhall, Huddersfield, Leeds, etc). Our work has been generously supported by the Arts Council, Hinrichsen Foundation & PRS Foundation, as well as by
