Wai-Nok Angela HUI

Wai-Nok Angela Hui is a London-based percussionist. She graduated from the Royal College of Music in BMus(Hons) with the support from the Croucher Foundation Hong Kong Award Scholarship and also obtained distinction in MPerf. Angela was awarded the Joy Hockings Percussion Prize 2016. She was one of the percussion finalists in the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2010. She has performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra through the Pathway Scheme, and has performed across the UK, Europe and Asia as a soloist and chamber musician with renowned musicians such as N.Zivkovic and T.Milkov. Last year she performed as a fresh klang in Kammer Klang’s April series at Cafe Oto; in June she also held a 3-days residency at the Hundred Years Gallery with the painter/sculpturist Yi Ling Wo, on a project inspired by the visual language within musical notations of the piece Mani.Gonxha by P.Billone. She searches for the unexplored possibilities between classical music, musical theatre and art, and collaborates with artists, poets and painters, incorporating a multitude of instruments and styles.
